Spring Break!

For several weeks, I've been anticipating this day; today, Friday. The day that would be the last day of work and the first day to breathe in quite some time, over a specific period of time. I needed this break. I needed a breather. Almost 6 months of being pushed out of my comfort zone, starting my day much earlier for work - and the two days in between, waking up to be on time for another commitment - and let's not mention the kid's sports schedule. I was tired. I needed a break!
Well, spring break is here and let me tell you, I am excited! Most look at spring break for reasons I've previously mentioned. Others look at it for what it is intended: a reprieve for students and teachers from school responsibilities before going into the final stretch of the school year. We all need a reprieve - at some point, from some thing. Reprieves help cancel out anxiety and stress, regain a healthy mental balance, and are an opportunity to reset and be refreshed. A moment to just, breathe.
This evening though, I looked at "spring break" a little differently. The season is shifting, the weather is changing, and we are now entering a new month - month 4. The number 4 representing seasons, or an appointed time for a shift. As we shift into April, I pray for your spring break; your season to be intentional about rapidly moving forward (spring) while interrupting your course (break) of routine function! Don't get too comfortable in your normal day-to-day that you forget to tend to your WHOLE function. No matter what you do, consider you - and treat you well: mind, body, and soul. Wellness matters, so make an effort to tend to yours, well. Get ready to spring break!

This is most certainly on point. We all need a reprieve, a time to breath, recover and reconnect to some of the basics we let fall off such as self care. You're so right u have to take care of self b/c if u don't u can't care for no one or nothing. I'm starting to learn this. Although it's a challenge to do consistently it's important to make ourselves a priority in our own life/story.
I know the lesson is coming late but better late than never. 🤷♀️
